Neocaridina Sunkist Gold Powder Shrimp

Small shrimp species originally native to eastern China and northern Taiwan.

These beautiful little shrimp are the ideal inhabitants of planted aquariums and aquascapes. Their small size and stunning colouration makes them a firm favourite.

Neocaridina shrimp prefer to be kept in planted aquariums with plenty of cover. They enjoy mosses in which the shrimplets can seek shelter and graze the leaves.

Shrimp require careful acclimatisation when adding to a new aquarium. Float the bag in the aquarium for at least 30 minutes to match the temperature of the new water. Add the shrimp and 50% of the bag water to a container. Using a length of airline, start a drip siphon into the shrimp container. You can slow down the drip speed by tying a knot in the line or with an adjustable tap. Aim for about 1 drip per second. Continue to fill the container until it contains 90% new tank water. The shrimp can now be carefully netted out and added to the new aquarium. Keep the aquarium lights off for 24 hours while the shrimp settle into their new surroundings.
